Dr Stewart practices at Russell Street Medical Centre, having been a GP in Bathurst for 20 years. She has been involved in GP training as a registrar liaison officer during her own training time, as a clinical teaching visit visitor, and medical educator. Realising she enjoyed in-practice teaching of registrars she became a GP supervisor seven years ago. With the motto “I’ll teach you what is not in the textbook”, Dr Stewart enjoys seeing a registrar transition from hospital to general practice and their satisfaction at getting patients returning to them for ongoing care. Registrars consider Dr Stewart “an extremely supportive supervisor” and “a great role model”.
