RACGP-led training summit
In February, members of the GP Synergy team attended a three-day RACGP Summit in Alice Springs in which the RACGP reinforced its commitment to working with Regional Training Organisations (RTOs) into the future.
The first day, the Rural Summit, focused on rural and remote general practice. It included presentations from stakeholders and identification of key issues/themes for the rural GP workforce, as well as discussions around the key issues/themes and solutions for improving national rural workforce distribution. During the Rural Summit, RACGP Vice President, Associate Professor Ayman Shenouda, announced the new RACGP AGPT Rural Generalist (AGPT RG) Fellowship.
The following days, the RACGP Led Training Summit, focussed on key aspects of the current AGPT program and workshopped how the RACGP and RTOs may be able to best work together into the future, drawing on the experience and strengths across us all. The work conducted was to help inform the role each party will play beyond 2021.
ACRRM transition meeting
In February we had the opportunity to meet with senior members of ACRRM to discuss a wide range of training matters. This included updates on transition, policies, orientation, accreditation, standards and selection for 2021. This collegiate and positive afternoon focused on registrar-centred training.
We will continue to keep you updated regarding the transition to college led training as more information becomes available.
