The town was once a major potato growing area and continues to be surrounded by extensive agricultural activities. It is a centre for truffle production.

How to get there

The nearest airport to Millthorpe is Orange Regional Airport (12 min drive). Regional Express (REX) provides regular passenger services between Orange and Sydney. Link Airways provides weekday flights between Orange, Brisbane and Melbourne.

NSW TrainLink provides a daily service from Sydney to Millthorpe.
