Applied for the 2023 AGPT program?

Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP)
The FRACGP in the AGPT program is a three-year program when undertaken full-time. Training time can be reduced up to 12 months through recognition of prior learning.
The three-year FRACGP AGPT training program comprises:
12 months hospital terms (can be PGY2 or above)
18 months GP community-based terms (GPT1, GPT2, GPT3)
6 months extended skills term in either a hospital, community GP or community non-GP setting
Common training scenarios
* Hospital-based extended skills terms (ES Hosp) can be undertaken any time after hospital terms. Non-GP community extended skills terms (ES Com) can be undertaken anytime after GPT1. Community extended skills terms (ES GP) can only be undertaken after GPT3. Registrars can sit fellowship exams after completion of two training years and their second term (GPT2).
Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) - Optional fourth year
If you have an interest in rural generalism, the RACGP offers an additional fellowship currently known as Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP). Doctors pursuing FARGP will transition to the new Rural Generalist Fellowship (FRACGP-RG) which is currently being reviewed by the Australian Medical Council for accreditation. The new FRACGP-RG pathway will align with a national Rural Generalist Medicine training pathway.
The FARGP involves an additional fourth training year comprising 12 months Advanced Rural Skills Training (ARST) which can be undertaken anytime after the hospital year in a range of disciplines.
Registrars training under the Rural Generalist Training Policy may also add an additional 6-12 months of ARST training. Doctors can also choose to opt in or out of this policy at any time during training without penalty.
