South Eastern NSW seasonal celebration

Our South Eastern NSW seasonal celebration and awards night was held in Wollongong on 14 November 2019. Supervisors, practice managers, registrars, staff and guests enjoyed the evening and the opportunity to network and recognise achievements in GP training.

South Eastern NSW Supervisor of the Year Award – Dr Jarrod Alkemade

Dr Jarrod Alkemade is based at Moss Street Medical Practice in Nowra, he also started his GP training at the practice. Fellowing in 2016, he became a GP supervisor the following year. As a supervisor, his enthusiasm, approachability and willingness to go above and beyond with teaching have greatly enriched the learning of registrars. His wealth of clinical knowledge is readily shared and no problem is too much effort to discuss or explain. He maintains excellent standards of patient-centred care, a value he passes on to his registrars. His commitment to teaching extends to running OSCE preparation sessions for a small group of registrars from Moss Street Medical Practice and other local practices. He is a role model for what is achievable as an early career GP.
