Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are approximately 40% more likely to die from cancer than non-Indigenous Australians.
Central Coast GP supervisor, Dr Elly Warren, sees this disparity in her work at Yerin Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Centre in Wyong NSW where she is the lead GP.
To help raise awareness about this issue, Elly is joining Tour de Cure’s upcoming Signature Tour ride from Newcastle to Noosa, tackling over 1400kms in 9 days.
The ride will start in Newcastle on 26 March 26 and travel through New England via Tamworth/Armidale to the Queensland border at Warwick and on to Noosa, finishing on 3 April 2020.
Donations to Tour de Cure can be made through Elly’s profile page.
