Real-Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM) and Authority Management Systems are used are in use in other jurisdictions in Australia and around the world to track medicines associated with a high risk of causing dependence or that are associated with misuse, such as opioid medications and benzodiazepines.
The NSW Department of Health are working with the Commonwealth to enable progression of RTPM in NSW. A project outline can be reviewed here.
The department is seeking input to provide the right tools for use in practice by hosting a two hour after business hours workshop in early June. The department is offering $250 remuneration for your participation.
