GP Synergy Informatics
What is GP Synergy Informatics?
The informatics system is an online, structured information commons creating a shared knowledge-base to support evidence based policy development and training of GP registrars across Australia.
The system follows the best practice principles of information design, data visualisation and user experience. This strong foundation encourages users to engage with traditionally complex data, tools and processes in a simple, intuitive, and interactive manner.
How does it work?
The system incorporates over 70 carefully selected population health, workforce and training capacity variables combined with a rich dataset of facilities, training, accreditation and registrar placements.
This enables the tool to both present a rich, multi-faceted view of a region, as well as drilldown to answer specific questions or test alternative scenarios.

An opportunity for informed collaboration between agencies
GP Synergy aims to make this system available for the use of other Regional Training Organisations (RTOs), Primary Health Networks (PHNs), Local Health Districts (LHDs) and other related agencies whose business aligns with general practice training and health workforce distribution.
Data is securely hosted in accordance with ISO27001 information system management and security standards. Use of the informatics system will improve collaboration within the industry, mitigate duplication of effort between agencies, and ultimately improve population health outcomes.
