We recognise that 2020.2 may continue to present difficult times for registrars who are negatively impacted by COVID-19. We are aware that some registrars have concerns about reduced scope of practice, patient numbers and other impacts to their training and we will continue to advocate for ways to support continuity of training in this changed environment.
In order to continue to support all GP Synergy registrars during this time, we are offering the following supports.
Health and well-being reimbursement
Given the overwhelmingly positive response from the first health and well-being reimbursement, we would like to continue offering this initiative for 2020.2. All registrars are eligible to submit one claim for this term, up to a value of $200, for purchases made between 1 September and 31 December 2020.
Purchases include health and well-being items/services or educational/ training resources which will help at this time. Examples of claimable items include (but not limited to) educational resources; text books and educational courses, medical equipment such as dermatoscopes, equipment to support hobbies, exercise classes and clothing, smart watches/wearable fitness tracking devices and weekend getaway accommodation. If you have any queries in relation to eligible claimable items, please email your query to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Audio-visual equipment reimbursement
GP Synergy recognises the continued reliance on technology and video conferencing for GP training and patient consultations. In light of this, we are offering an additional $200 reimbursement to support the purchase of any equipment that assists with video conferencing. Examples of claimable items include (but not limited to) webcams, headphones or microphones, speakers, teleconferencing software subscriptions.
All registrars are eligible to submit one claim, up to a value of $200 for purchases made between 1 July and 31 December 2020.
Simplified online claims process
Both health and well-being and audio-visual equipment claims can now be made through the new claims module in GPRime. Simply log into GPRime and click on the ‘Claims’ tab on the left-hand menu. The new online claim forms allow you to quickly enter your bank account details, outline the details of your claim, upload your receipt/s and submit for processing.
Please see the COVID-19 registrar well-being subsidy page on GPRime for more information. You can find this on GPRime under ‘Forms, documents and links’ by searching ‘COVID’.
