GP Synergy has launched a new geo-spatial informatics system to support evidenced-based policy development and training of GP registrars, at the annual General Practice Teaching and Education Conference in Sydney.

The informatics system incorporates an extensive range of carefully selected population health, workforce and training capacity variables combined with a rich dataset of facilities, training, accreditation and registrar placements.

The tool allows users to both see a rich, multi-faceted view of a region, as well as drilldown to answer specific questions or test alternative scenarios about workforce distribution and needs.
