GP Synergy, the largest provider of vocational and prevocational general practice training in NSW, is pleased to announce the reappointment of Professor Siaw-Teng Liaw and Dr Ian Kamerman to the GP Synergy Board of Directors. The Board welcomes new Director, Dr Harry Nespolon and thanks retiring Director, Dr Narelle Shadbolt.
The appointments were made following the member ballot results announced at GP Synergy’s Annual General Meeting on Friday, 24 October 2014.
Dr Harry Nespolon (pictured) is principal of two practices in Neutral Bay and Sydney City. He has been a general practitioner for over 20 years and a long standing GP supervisor. He enjoys all the domains of general practice; in particular the procedural aspects of practice.
Dr Nespolon says he is a very proud general practitioner, who is passionate about the vital role that general practice plays in our health system.
“The whole of patient care offered by general practice provides me with great professional satisfaction,” says Dr Nespolon. “Another great pleasure is to see young doctors become great general practitioners and my colleagues.”
Dr Nespolon holds a number of representative positions including Chair of Sydney North Shore and Beaches Medicare Local and a member of the RACGP NSW Council. He is involved in all aspects of the RACGP exam including standard setting.
A former GP Synergy Director from 2007 to 2011, Dr Nespolon says he is looking forward to working with the highly regarded organisation again.
“The work that the GP Synergy staff perform in the delivery of high quality training to produce the next generation of general practitioners should never be underestimated,” he says.
GP Synergy Chair, Dr Charlotte Hespe congratulated all Directors on their recent appointments and extended the Board’s thanks to retiring Director, Dr Narelle Shadbolt.
“We are delighted to retain the skills and experience of Professor Siaw-Teng Liaw and Dr Ian Kamerman,” says Dr Hespe “and we welcome Dr Nespolon and the expertise he will bring to the Board.”
“We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr Narelle Shadbolt for the significant contributions she has made during her tenure,” she said.
