North Coast Practice Manager of the Year – Mandy Harrison
Ms Mandy Harrison is Practice Manager at Coffs Medical Centre where she brings a strategic approach and endless passion and energy for delivering excellent quality health care to the Coffs Harbour community. The practice is home to nearly 20 GPs and registrars, and has been a long term training practice, with many doctors staying on at the practice after training. Experienced GPs, new fellows and current registrars all consider Mandy a 'can do' manager who brings a culture of excellence, fun and care to the daily work environment. In the words of a current registrar: "She has been highly supportive of the GP trainees, ensuring that each of the registrars at the Coffs Medical Centre are well looked after both at work and outside work. Whether ensuring adequate teaching time or working with the reception team to ensure that I was seeing a good variety of patients, so I could gain sufficient experience to prepare for my exams. Outside of work, Mandy periodically checks in with not just myself, but each of the doctors at the practice. She encourages all of us to carve out some time for ourselves and take leave where necessary so that we do not burn out, and I cannot be more appreciative of this."
