GP Synergy Awards 2021 – ACRRM Registrar of the Year (NSW/ACT)

NSW/ACT ACRRM Registrar of the Year Award - Major (Dr) Robert Worswick
Major (Dr) Robert Worswick is a recent ACRRM Fellow. During his medical training as a dual pathway (ACRRM and RACGP) registrar, his commitment to remote medicine was shown by his various rural and remote placements where his skills in GP and emergency medicine were utilised for the benefit of local communities. Like most ADF registrars, Bob moved between different states during the course of his training. He also took periods of leave, and used the time to work in the emergency department of a rural hospital in South East Queensland, and in an indigenous community in remote Western Australia. During his training Bob also spent three years as a representative on the ACRRM Registrar Committee and two years as the registrar representative on the ACRRM Assessment Committee making a considerable contribution to the college, and to all registrars training through ACRRM. He is only the second GP Synergy registrar to complete both RACGP and ACRRM training. Bob has now transitioned to the role of a supervisor at the newly accredited Defence ACT Health post in Canberra where he will be supervising the next generation of Army, Airforce and Navy registrars posted at the new ACT facility.
