South Eastern NSW Supervisor of the Year – Dr Trevor Smith
Dr Trevor Smith of Culburra Beach General Practice is a long-term GP supervisor that has made a distinct impression on registrars. He is described as gifting practical wisdom and sharpening new skills. Always attentive to the educational needs of the registrar, he reminds them of the unique privilege of practising medicine every day and the humbled honour of serving the community. Beyond that Trevor inspires confidence in registrars and is a wonderful role model that effortlessly embodies the GP training principles as outlined in the RACGP domains of practice and GP Synergy’s training program.

South Eastern NSW Registrar of the Year – Dr Megan Thomas
Dr Megan Thomas is in an extension term at Woonona Medical Practice where she has impressed staff and patients with her knowledge, empathy, dedication and clinical acumen. Megan offers all aspects of LGBTIQ healthcare, including being one of only two prescribers in the Illawarra of gender affirming hormone therapy for trans and gender diverse patients. In this space she has impressed her training practice by helping them become part of the ‘Welcome Here Project’ as well as establishing the gender affirming therapy policy, procedure and web page for the practice website. She provides the LGBTIQ group of patients with much needed emotional and social support.

South Eastern NSW Practice Manager of the Year – Lea Gollop
Lea Gollop is the practice manager at Shellharbour Medical Centre. Lea is an integral part of the team and works tirelessly to foster a positive workplace culture for the entire staff, including GP registrars and medical students. She is organised, has excellent attention to detail and is dedicated to overseeing the provision of excellent health care at the practice. Lea is passionate about education and aims to create an environment for medical students’ community placements and GP registrar terms which is rich in experience and learning. From her thorough induction/orientation and throughout their stay at SMC, Lea is always supportive and there to share her experience and knowledge.
