GP Synergy Awards 2020 – Murrumbidgee & ACT
Murrumbidgee & ACT Supervisor of the Year – Dr Simon Wallace
Dr Simon Wallace of Leeton Medical Centre has been supervising registrars since 1998, a year after he started work in Leeton as a GP and anaesthetist at Leeton District Hospital. Having supervised many registrars over that time, Dr Wallace goes out of his way to ensure that each registrar is welcomed and supported, and those in difficulty get extra support. In the words of one of his registrars: “He has the capacity as a supervisor to make a registrar feel like a professional peer and equal while concurrently providing support and education. He is approachable with any clinical question, no matter how large or small and maintained a genuine interest in my education and my patient's care over time.”
