GP Synergy is delighted to announce that Mrs Georgina van de Water has been appointed to the role of GP Synergy CEO.
Georgina is well known and highly respected in the GP training environment. She has been with GP Synergy since 2016 as Chief Operations Officer and Deputy CEO. This followed a seven-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer at former regional training provider and primary health network, WentWest. She has also held other senior roles in both the private and not-for-profit sector.
Georgina assumed the role of GP Synergy Interim CEO following the departure of John Oldfield in March 2020.
With extensive experience in business management and stakeholder relations, Georgina says she is looking forward to working closely with team members, trainees, supervisors, training practices and GP Synergy partners in ensuring that we have healthier communities through the role we play.
“I am excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity to continue to perform with our local teams and all stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes in GP training into the future,” she said.
GP Synergy Chair, Dr Ian Kamerman, congratulated Georgina on her appointment and said the Board is confident the organisation will continue to develop and prosper under her direction.
“After an extensive executive search, involving a large number of exceptional candidates, the Board unanimously supported Georgina’s appointment,” said Dr Kamerman.
“Georgina has taken the lead of the organisation at a time that would have challenged even the most experienced CEO.
“During this difficult time, she has demonstrated clear leadership and implemented the strategic plan developed by the Board and senior management team into the day-to-day operations of the company.
“On behalf of GP Synergy, I would like to congratulate Georgina on her appointment and encourage you to join us in welcoming her into the CEO role as we take this next step in our journey.”
