GP Synergy’s membership of Supply Nation reinforces our commitment to diversity both within our workforce and procurement processes through support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.

GP Synergy has a history of initiatives designed to help close the gap for Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. These initiatives include:

  • Working with Reconciliation Australia to have our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2021 – 2024 endorsed, following on from implementation of our Innovate RAP.
  • Since 2017 GP Synergy has had three roles designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons and four identified positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees. Overall, more than 7.3% of our workforce identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • As a GP training provider, GP Synergy has worked with the NSW/ACT Aboriginal community controlled health sector since 2016 to train more than 300 GP Synergy registrars in Aboriginal health training posts.

And has worked with the following organisations and Supply Nation Indigenous businesses:

  • Reconciliation Australia and Aboriginal Employment Strategy.

GP Synergy CEO, Mrs Georgina van de Water, said joining Supply Nation was a step forward in the organisation’s reconciliation journey.

“Through our Stretch RAP we have committed to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier diversity, to support improved economic and social outcomes, we are pleased to formalise our partnership with Supply Nation to assist us”.
