Training in a rural setting is a rich and rewarding experience that can help you build your skills as a general practitioner. The AGPT program is a fantastic opportunity to experience rural general practice in a supervised and supported environment. You can also make a significant contribution to a rural community, even if you are only there for a short time.

Go North Eastern NSW
There are a myriad of training opportunities in the North Eastern NSW training region. It's known for its diversity with major regional centres such as Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Tamworth, and vibrant smaller towns and communities.
Go West Guide
The Western NSW training region offers an abundance of training experiences. The region is home to large regional centres such as Bathurst, Broken Hill, Dubbo, Griffith, Orange, Wagga Wagga and a range of welcoming smaller towns.
Rural subsidies and supports
There are a range of supports and subsidies available for doctors who take up a rural training experience. This includes a dedicated rural support team, relocation subsidies, education and course subsidies to name a few.
