GP Synergy Medical Student Scholarship
Each year GP Synergy offers scholarship places at participating universities located within our boundaries for students to explore general practice and general practice research. Successful recipients receive $2,000 to support their medical studies.

Rural Resident Medical Officer Cadetships
Successful applicants receive up to $15,000 per year for the final two years of their medical degree. In return, they agree to undertake two of the first three years of their hospital training in an eligible rural NSW hospital.

John Flynn Placement Program
Each year 300 rural placements are available to medical students to experience the one-of-a-kind rural clinical practice and rural lifestyle throughout Australia. The JFPP has been providing medical students with a rural immersion experience for over 20 years

Bush Bursaries and Country Women's Association Scholarships
The NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) Bush Bursaries and Country Women's Association (CWA) Scholarships provide selected medical, midwifery and nursing students in NSW/ACT with $1,500 each to assist with costs associated with their studies. Recipients also spend two weeks on a rural placement in country NSW during their university holidays. The placement combines the enjoyable aspects of country life and rural medicine.

Outreach Student Placement Program
The Outreach Student Placement Program provides up to 50 selected medical, nursing and allied health students in NSW/ACT with the opportunity to shadow an Outreach provider in a rural or remote community. Available Outreach providers include obstetricians, cardiologists, nurses, optometrists and many more across other disciplines. All travel, accommodation and subsistence costs will be covered for these placements.
Health Workforce Scholarship Program
The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in rural and remote Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice. The Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health, administered in New South Wales by NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN).

MDA National and RDAA Rural Health Bursary
MDA National is offering a bursary in 2019 as part of its ongoing relationship with Rural Doctors Association of Australia. The bursary is valued at up to $7,000 + GST and is intended to assist an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander medical student with travel, accommodation and other living/study expenses in 2020.
