After many years with GP Synergy Dr Anne Eastwood has retired from the position of Deputy Director of Education and Training NSW & ACT. As a highly respected senior member of the GP Synergy team, her judgment, leadership and dedication to general practice training will be missed.
Beginning her career as a medical educator with the former Sydney Institute of General Practice Education and Training (SIGPET) in 2004, Anne joined GP Synergy in 2010. She was instrumental in managing the change to a single provider across NSW/ACT following GP Synergy’s successful tender in 2016.
Anne has a genuine commitment to bettering the lives of others, this was demonstrated throughout her GP career in refugee health, and in playing an instrumental role in successful progression of Australian Defence Force (ADF) registrars through their training.
A worthy recipient of the Dr Jeremy Bunker Outstanding Achievement Award in 2016, Anne was also awarded the 2020 RACGP Corlis Award, which recognises an RACGP member who has contributed substantially to the education and mentoring of doctors on any of the RACGP pathways to Fellowship, read more here.
