Supervisor of the Year | Dr Efy Alexandratos
Dr Efy Alexandratos is a dedicated GP and supervisor from Earlwood General Practice. Efy is an excellent role model who creates rapport with patients and colleagues and as such, is well respected by registrars, colleagues and patients alike. She goes over and beyond what one would expect of a supervisor and stays behind to support registrars and teach registrars outside of her working hours. She has been described as being “one of the best GP supervisors” who has “certainly inspired me to be a good GP, who genuinely advocates for their patient and is respectful towards both senior and junior colleagues.”
Practice Manager of the Year | Penny Mills
Penny is the manager of The Leichhardt General Practice, and former practice manager at headspace Chatswood and Brookvale. During this time, she has mentored and supported countless registrars as part of their GP training journey. She runs an outstandingly efficient practice and has always been willing to help where she can. Penny strives to manage an efficient, caring and friendly practice for valued patients and registrars.
Registrar of the Year | Dr Sara Chohan
Dr Sara Chohan has been a Registrar Liaison Officer (RLO) with GP Synergy during a period of change and uncertainty for registrars. During this time, Sara has always put the interests of registrars first and foremost, but done so with a collaborative and cooperative approach. She has shown a genuine commitment to her advocacy role, and performed with grace and diplomacy in all her dealings with GP Synergy staff. Sara is always highly receptive and willing to participate, be it in development of GP Synergy’s registrar program, the promotion of general practice or providing support to GP registrars.
GP Synergy Employee of the Year | Dr Marisa Magiros
Dr Marisa Magiros is an asset to the GP Synergy medical education team. Marisa always puts in an incredible effort with her work and is extremely passionate about general practice and GP training. She is always well prepared for any education she delivers and always puts her hand up to help others. She has instigated and led the Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pre-GP Term Assessment (PGA) working groups both of which have developed excellent resources for our registrars and medical educators. Marisa has not only supported her registrar cohort, she has participated in clinical teaching visits, the education program and her portfolio areas, in addition to taking on further responsibilities. Above all, Marisa is always open and cheerful and very approachable whether it be staff, registrars or other stakeholders.
