“Wow. What an amazing week and what a great way to cap off my second year in Medicine. I feel like i have complemented my studies throughout the year and learned valuable skills in my future career as a doctor.”
Sydney University Medical Student, Simon Walters, is the recipient of one of the NSW Rural Doctors Network ‘Bush Bursaries’ – the Gwydir Valley Cotton Growers Association (CGA) Cotton Industry Medical Scholarship.
The scholarship provides a student studying at an Australian Medical School with $5,000 per year for three years to assist with costs associated with their studies. In return, the student is required to spend two weeks on a rural placement per year in a NSW cotton growing region (usually Moree) during their university holidays.
