GP Synergy is pleased to announce the appointment of GP Synergy GP registrar, Dr Michael Bonning, to the GP Synergy Board of Directors.
“We are delighted that Michael is joining the GP Synergy Board,” said GP Synergy Chair, Dr Charlotte Hespe.
“GP Synergy highly values the contributions made by GP registrars at board level, and we welcome the input and expertise Michael will bring.”
Michael is a GP registrar with an interest in Indigenous health who currently splits his time between the Royal Australian Navy as a uniformed medical officer and the Tharawal Aboriginal Medical Service. His research areas are health workforce & training, the use of social media in healthcare and doctors’ health.
He has a background in the not-for-profit sector and is currently a director of beyondblue and the Postgraduate Medical Council of Queensland, as well as being a past director of the Federal Australian Medical Association (AMA) and past president of the Australian Medical Students’ Association.
“I’m looking forward to what I can add to the board in terms of strategy and government relations especially as it relates to training places,” said Michael.
“Creating an open, comprehensive and innovative environment for training means that future GPs can deliver the healthcare our community deserves,” he added.
